Rathmoy Estate is situated on the banks of the spectacular Rangitikei River, surrounded by the 890-hectare sheep and beef farm which has been farmed by six generations of the Grace family.
Located just off State Highway One near the town of Hunterville in New Zealand’s North Island, Rathmoy Estate is part of a working farm and a destination in its own right.
The property overlooks the Rangitikei River and White papa cliffs and it is teeming with of life. Enjoy the singing native birds, the wild, running river and the happy flocks of sheep and mobs of cattle that graze the neighbouring paddocks.

Cooks Road is situated on State Highway 54 just below the junction with State Highway 1.
**From Palmerston North:
1. Head to Bulls.
2. In Bulls, turn right towards Taupo. Continue straight until you reach Hunterville.
3. From Hunterville, drive straight on SHW1 for about 6 km and turn right towards Feilding / Vinegar Hill (you will see a yellow Rathmoy sign on the post).
4. Just about 20 meters after this turn, take an immediate right into Cooks Road (another yellow Rathmoy sign).
**From Feilding:
1. Stay on Highway 54 and continue towards SHW1.
2. Pass the Vinegar Hill campground and cross the bridge.
3. Continue towards SHW1 (Hunterville) and about 20 meters before State Highway 1 turn left into Cooks Road (yellow Rathmoy sign).
**From Taihape:
1. Head towards Hunterville.
2. About 6 km before Hunterville, turn left towards Feilding / Vinegar Hill (you will see a yellow Rathmoy sign on the post).
3. Just about 20 meters after this turn, take an immediate right into Cooks Road (another yellow Rathmoy sign).
Once You Are on Cooks Road:
1. Drive to the end of Cooks Road (about 100 meters).
2. Turn left onto a gravel road marked by another yellow Rathmoy sign.
3. Continue straight on the gravel road for about 2 km, you will pass a woolshed on your right .
4. Then, turn left down the hill at the lodge sign, continue all the way down for about 1.5 kilometers until you drive though an avenue of poplar trees which open out into the lodge area.
Please note: You might find closed farm gates. Don’t panic—you’re in the right place! Just open them and close them again if you found them closed.
